Who is The Magic Guy?

It's George Arndt!!! Just ask his wife, clients, and friends.

George Arndt (sometimes known as "The Magic Guy") has been performing magic since he was 6 years old. At that time he was doing shows for the neighborhood kids in Chicago and charging 15 cents each for admission. His basement would be packed, sometimes up to 12 kids at a time. During this period he was also performing community skits and drama.

As George got older he moved onto more challenging magic, and even performed for his local scout troop. In a talent contest he placed 2nd to a twin group who sang Bee Gees songs; it was all the rage back then so he doesn't feel bad.

George moved to Indiana at the age of 13 and was introduced to close-up magic by a friend. He then went on to practice 8-12 hours daily in his aunt's basement (he did not have a very good tan back then) to improve his show. In 1982 George started performing for pay at area events and things just took off from there as more and more people wanted him to perform.

George's first "big time" show was performing for the St. Louis Cardinals and a group of visiting Japanese baseball executives who only spoke Japanese, and at that time he did not speak Japanese. Needless to say it was a great show and a true challenge.

While during his long collegiate career (9 years), George helped support his studies by doing shows of all sizes. After university life he moved to northern Indiana where he resides with his wife and two children. He is still doing shows and still loves doing what he loves to do!!!

George is a member of many groups that would be of no interest to the common person. He is also a certified martial arts instructor (real martial arts, not like the stuff you see in the movies) and has in the past used some of those skills in his shows. George can do several languages (mostly european and eastern, but some others too; do you need a show done in latin?) and can find his way around a computer quite well. As a matter of fact, to drive himself crazy at times, George will even build a computer or two. But that's just when he's feeling masochistic. He loves being a dad and has been very happily married to his wife Wendy for about 13 years now.

George's act is a clean act that he would be happy to invite his grandmother to see. And, it is cutting edge. It is mind-blowing, funny, and modern all at the same time. George knows of no other magician who can stand on his head and perform a crazy bit of magic before passing out.

There are some other strange things about George so if you want to know just ask him and he'll let you know what you would like to hear :) Or you can click this link for some more biographical information on George.
