Sokugi Taikyoku Sono Ich


Beginning: "Yoi" - Heiko dachi, cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides


Note: Throughout the kata, arms are held at the sides, except when immediately following a yoko geri. Then the arms are brought up in front of the throat, with the forward arm on the inside, and returned to the sides as in "Yoi" above.


  1. Hidari yoko geri to the left, kubi height. Turn L. 90° into zenkutsu dachi, then cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides.

  2. Migi oi mae geri.

  3. Turn R. 180°, R. yoko geri, kubi height. Move into migi zenkutsu dachi, cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides.

  4. Hidari oi mae geri.

  5. Hidari yoko geri to the left, kubi height. Turn L. 90° into zenkutsu dachi, then cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides.

  6. Migi oi mae geri.

  7. Hidari oi mae geri.

  8. Migi oi mae geri, kiai.

  9. Rotating 270° L, execute hidari yoko geri, kubi height. Move into hidari zenkutsu dachi, cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides.

  10. Migi oi mae geri.

  11. Turn R. 180°, R. yoko geri, kubi height. Move into migi zenkutsu dachi, cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides.

  12. Hidari oi mae geri.

  13. Hidari yoko geri to the left, kubi height. Turn L. 90° into zenkutsu dachi, then cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides.

  14. Migi oi mae geri.

  15. Hidari oi mae geri.

  16. Migi oi mae geri, kiai.

  17. Rotating 270° L, execute hidari yoko geri, kubi height. Move into hidari zenkutsu dachi, cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides.

  18. Migi oi mae geri.

  19. Turn R. 180°, R. yoko geri, kubi height. Move into migi zenkutsu dachi, cross arms in front of throat and bring to sides.

  20. Hidari oi mae geri.


End: "Mat-te" -- L. foot steps back to Heiko dachi and both arms cross as in original movement.
